Church as Co-Celebrant for the 75th Anniversary of PGCAG

RE: Being A CO-CELEBRANT for the 75TH ANNIVERSARY of PGCAG

Dear Church,

Choice greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

From a humble beginning, PGCAG as a movement, has grown into becoming the fastest growing and the biggest evangelical group in the Philippines. 2015 is a special year of celebration for all God’s people in the Philippines General Council of the Assemblies of God. We are celebrating the 75th year of God’s faithfulness to the PGCAG missions. The venue is the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City (part of the Mall of Asia Complex). The dates of the event is from April 28 to May 1, 2015.

The theme of this celebration is “Unrestrained!” – taken from Acts 28:30-31 of the Holy Bible. We have great anointed speakers from the USA and other parts of the world, celebrating with us.

This is therefore our opportunity to invite you as an affiliate church of PGCAG to become co-celebrant with us. Here’s some ideas how you can celebrate in a God-honoring way:
1. Announce regularly this great event in your services and praise God!
2. You can come and attend with your Pastor as a group to represent your beloved local church – or if not;
3. You can send your Pastor (and his wife) to this celebration – with your all out support!

We urge you to help your Pastor to be able to go to this event by raising money enough for his board and lodging and for his fare. This will be the best demonstration of your thanksgiving to God for the Assemblies of God – sending your pastors to attend.

Thank you for your care. We are

Unrestrained!

Reynaldo A. Calusay
General Superintendent

Join International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Let’s join the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church on November 9 or 16, 2014 in our churches. Here’s a guideline for prayer.

The General Situation of the Suffering Church
The situation of the suffering church has worsened in 2014. Countless thousands of brothers and sisters are victims of discrimination and persecution; many have lost their lives.

Focus Asia
Prayer subject:
Please pray for people suffering persecution, imprisonment, and even death for being a Christian.

Focus Africa
During a morning worship service on Sunday, January 26, 2014, members of the Boko Haram forced their way into a church in Chakawa, Adamawa, in northern Nigeria and opened fire on the worshippers. The attackers carried long knives and slit the throats of church members, who desperately tried to escape through any open door or window. Outside, other terrorists eagerly awaited gunning down as many fleeing people as possible. Fifty-two Christians died that day. Later, a few others died at the hospital as a result of injuries incurred. The goal of Boko Haram is to wipe out Christianity in the entire region. The magnitude of the attack combined with the looting and destruction of Christian homes proved that Christians were definitely singled out. All the believers are in a very difficult time. But in all this they are resolved to show love to their enemies. Revenge has no value. Hatred must be replaced with God’s love.

Prayer subject:
Pray that God will heal the victims, build His church on the seeds of the martyrs and change the hearts of Boko Haram and other Muslim extremists.

Focus Middle East
According to statistics, more than 25% of the Syrian Christians have left their country. However, there are Christians like Fathi (pseudonym) who stay in the country and help the people in need through the local churches. The city of Aleppo has experienced fierce fighting for more than two years. Lately there are rumors of the so-called Islamic State fighters being ready to overtake control of the whole city. “Of course, on the other side I thought of my family. I am afraid for their lives, but not for myself. The last years the Lord had to protect me when I was stopped at checkpoints, went through certain areas of the city and the country. God protected me; that keeps me going”, Fathi said.

Prayer subject:
Pray for men and women like Fathi who help people who have to leave everything in their villages or cities in Syria and flee to Aleppo. Pray that they will be strengthened by the Lord, and helped to cope with the trauma caused by many years of war. Pray that the Lord gives wisdom how to respond to difficult situations.

Church Planting Institute

 img_7320.JPG img_7317.JPG
In line with PGCAG’s goal to have 5,000 churches by 2010, the leaders of Northern Luzon District Council are currently training 43 men and women as church planters at the global missions center of APTS in Baguio City. The institute runs from Sept. 25 to Oct. 6, 2006.

Urgent Prayer Request!!

Here’s a letter PGCAG received from Bicol:

Our senior pastor, Rev. Salvador L. Belen, had an accident last night (Sept. 19th?). He was operated on early this morning because of blood clots in his brain. Right now he’s still in the recovery room. Attached are pictures taken of him this afternoon.

Ptr. Belen had been a Bicol District Superintendent for quite sometime.

We are appealing for prayers and financial help for him, since their funds are used primarily for their children’s schooling. Two of his children are graduating this school year; one from nursing, and another from dentistry. They’re also sending a grandchild to elementary school.

We are using our church funds to assist them now but due to the possible magnitude of the expenses, we are asking for help from others.

Thank you very much for whatever assistance you can provide for him. God bless you!

Very truly yours,

LILLIAN ALICE D. LOPEZ (ladlopez@gmail.com)
Church Secretary
