kumosta, hello, from Oklahoma USA, I am a caucasian man married to my lovely filipina wife of 21 years, we are planning on moving back to the phillippines next year to be near her family in Dau, near Angeles city where I was stationed in the us air force in the eighties. I have a real burden for the negrito people and need to know what if any programs we have in missions to them. We are very active members in our local Assembly of God church here, my eldest son, Modesto is currently participating in the Scottsdale first Assembly Master’s Commission program. I’m hoping he feels the call also to return to the Phillippines with us. Is there a need for us here? Is someone already working with the negritos? sincerely, your brother in Christ, Rev. Richard W. Robbins p.s. Is there an Assembly of God church near Angeles city now?

My earlier comment and inquiry has to do with the current position of the PGCAG regarding the Latter Rain Movement in general. I may have posted it in the wrong page (PGCAG NEWS) in this blogsite. I do feel concerned with the proliferation and increasingly aggressive tactics of this movement, and I am afraid that, as George Santayana once said, “He who forgets the past is bound to repeat it.” In 1949 the General Council (USA) renounced the Latter Rain Movement, and as far as we know, has never rescinded that position. What is the PGCAG doing to insure that our ministers and congregations are protected from the “wolves that come in sheep’s clothing”?
August 10, 2007 at 8:11 am
Dear Bro. Ducusin,
Your comments are well-noted. Your query has been forwarded to our leadership. Bear with us as we address your concern. Thanks for visiting our blogsite.

I am Renato Carag of STDC, Section 3 Presbyter as well. During our District Leadership meeting, there was a question that raises the issue of “CAKE RAFFLE” in local churches. Is that cake raffle also the same with GAMBLING? Can the PGCAG give us a POSITION PAPER regarding this for our directions. Thank you.

To whom it may concern:
I’m an AG ordained minister from Laguna but now pastoring here in Toronto. I pioneered a church in Laguna way back 1991 then decided to leave the place to support it financially. Few years ago, I requested Ptr. Albert Pena to register the church under AG. He, together with 1 leader of the church registered the church but now that Ptr. Albert Pena is no longer pastoring that church, we are not sure of the standing of Word and Life Christian Assembly, Tranca Bay, Laguna. Members told me few weeks ago during my vacation in the Philippines that we have problems with our affiliation. Members are confused esp. with the death of former presbyter and the transfer of other AG churches in Laguna to another denomination. Also, can I touch base with the new presbyter of Laguna?

Dear Sir,
The executive presbytery (EP-88-08/May 15, 2008) has recently made a decision to designate a pastors’ day every third Sunday of December to give appreciation to pastors. Please implement this in your district so our local churches can plan accordingly. We need to give due recognition to our local church pastors who have been faithfully ministering to our constituents through these years.

February 16, 2009 at 11:45 am
To The Concern Officers,
Good day in Christ Jesus!
I have asked 3 pastors of the PGCAG if they have a knowledege about The Latter Rain Movement Doctrines. I got a negative respond.
The movement’s doctrine might be entering PGCAG churches directly or indirectly.
If you vist http://www.ag.org last Aug, 2000, they have made resolution 16-A return to biblical integrity and RESOLVED, that we disapprove of Latter Rain doctrines and practices such as “impartation,” “birthing,” “Joel’s Army,” and the “five-fold ministries” taught as “offices” with “predictive prophecy,” and other extraneous teachings “which, being unfounded scripturally, serve only to break fellowship . . . and tend to confusion and division.”
Correct me if I am wrong in my interpretation.
Is this officially accepted by the PGCAG?
This should be decided fast and also make a stand on this issue. They might be entering PGCAG churches in other forms and several pastors might be embracing this doctrines already? Please clear this up for the benefit of all PGCAG churches.

this is where that resolution 16 may be read in full:
http://www.ag.org/top/events/General_Council_1999/business/resolution/res_16.cfm
the resolution is clear in that it disapproved “extraneous teachings “‘which, being unfounded scripturally, serve only to break fellowship . . . and tend to confusion and division.”
February 17, 2009 at 10:05 am
Thanks Bro. Rex Batay-an for the confirmation. Is our leadeship has the same stand disapproving this group? Maybe the next step is for us through our leadership to clearly discuss this to every Pastors and Deacons within PGCAG. I know this might be very untimely since we are preparing for the big event in Cebu this May. I hope in the near future God willing this will be discussed thoroughly and clearly to all of us.
February 17, 2009 at 10:28 am
Rex & Dentor,
Thanks to your active participation. Keep it up! I hope that others will join us in the many challenges our organization is facing. We’ll soon convene a theological commission which will tackle issues that confront our churches today. To this day, there has been no official theological position on issues established by PGCAG aside from the 16 fundamental truths. We’ve become “theological mimics” of US A/G albeit helpful to a large extent but not so with issues like divorce and remarriage for obvious reasons, we do not have divorce in the Phils. As to doctrinal issues – our local churches have made their own decisions and truly have become victims to spiritual charlatans that abound in our midst, even sometimes from within our own ranks.
Let’s keep this going, my friends.
February 18, 2009 at 6:47 am
Bro. Joseph,
Thanks for the quick response.
While waiting for the convening of Theological Commission, to study our stand and have a guideline on this, for the meantime, we will tackle this in the lower level as it arise.
God bless us all.

I am not an member of the Assemblies of God Philippines but an American AG evangelist. To clear this up, Res. 16 failed on the floor of General Council. We never approved it for theological reasons.

To the our beloved Executive Officers:
There’s a local church planting initiative going on in WVDC called CLIMB (Cluster Level Involvement to Mobilize Believers) and I’m wondering if this is supported by the GenCil considering that the schedule is in conflict with SOS. Would really appreciate it if our GS could answer that. Thank you very much and God Bless.

Hello, I am an Australian pastor who will be joining with you for your national conference in Cebu. I will be part of Pastor Warren Searles Team. Can we register for the conference as we arrive, or do we need to register before the event.
If we need to register before the event, how do we do that?
Thank you and God Bless

You and your group will have to register on-site but we can hasten the registration process a bit if you can e-mail me a list of names of your companions (jsweek@gmail.com).

To my beloved Leaders of PGCAG(Past Administration and Present Administration), have a nice day!
I hope that you are all fine by the grace of God.
To the Leaders of past Administration, I congratulate you for all the things that you’ve done! God knows it, He will never forget you. He will always be with you!
To the Leaders of present Administration, I congratulate you also for accepting your leadership positions/ministries with all your heart.
GOD WILL BE WITH YOU!
I AM PRAYING THAT WE ARE ALWAYS STRONG IN GOD whatever attacks that may come and may destroy our lives.
God said in His Word, “BE STRONG” (Joshua 1:6,7,9)
Let’s always GO to Him in Prayer with Faith!
FOR THE GLORY OF GOD,
SJ
